ROCK FALLS – A former Polo man was arrested around 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Walmart parking lot in Rock Falls and charged with selling prescription pills, Sterling police said in a news release.
Paul Ferlauto, 40, now of Bureau County, is charged with two counts of delivery of a scheduled controlled substance, the release said. It carries a sentence of 2 to 5 years in prison.
He is accused of selling the pills at the time of his arrest, and in July, the release said.
No further information, including what type of pills, was available. He was in Whiteside County Jail Tuesday awaiting a bond hearing.
In January 2009, Ferlauto, then of Polo, was sentenced to 2 years of probation for manufacturing or delivering more than 30 but less than 500 grams of marijuana. He was arrested in February 2008 along with two other men in a drug bust in which ¾ of a pound of marijuana was confiscated after a 7-month investigation.
At the time of his sentencing, he had no previous criminal history, according to Ogle County Court records.
