STERLING – A 22-year-old Sterling man accused of selling less than a gram of cocaine near Rock Falls High School in March was arrested shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, police said in a news release.
Christopher M. Surdez was arrested in the 400 block of East Ninth Street and charged with delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, the release said. The charge carries 4 to 15 years in prison.
He was in Whiteside County Jail Tuesday on $101,000 bond.
Last August, Surdez was convicted of aggravated battery and was given 30 months probation.
