FULTON – Dorothy Juist, 92, of Clinton, Iowa, formerly of Fulton, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at The Alverno Healthcare Center in Clinton, Iowa. She farmed alongside her husband in the rural Fulton area for 24 years, then worked at General Electric in Morrison.
Dorothy was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Chicago, the daughter of Richard and Jenny (Huizenga) DeYoung. She married Gerald D. Juist on May 29, 1941, in Chicago. He preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1990. She was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Fulton.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Henningsen of Morris and Kimberly (Richard) Holden of Mount Juliet, Tenn.; one son, Gary (Deb) Juist of Polo; four grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth DeYoung and Peter DeYoung.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Fulton. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Hoffman, pastor of Community Reformed Church in Clinton, Iowa, officiating. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton.
Memorials have been established to Sarah Harding Home and The Alverno Healthcare Facility, both in Clinton, Iowa.
