New tale-tellers at Storytelling Festival

STERLING – The Sterling Public Library’s 11th annual Storytelling Festival will be held Aug. 30 and 31 at Woodlawn Arts Academy, 3807 Woodlawn Road, and at the library, 102 W. Third St.

Four new storytellers are on tap: Susan O’Halloran, Jasmine Cardenas, Reid Miller and Ben Rosenfield. 

Friday’s storytelling, from 8 to 10 p.m., is for a mature audience. Admission is $7.

It follows an art show and reception from 6 to 7:45 p.m.

Saturday is family day. Stories for all ages will be told from noon to 4 p.m., and stories from Girl Scouts, Brownies and Daisies will be told from 4 to 4:30 p.m. The String-A-Longs dulcimer band will perform, and concessions will be available.  

Tales in the Dark will be told from 7 to 9 p.m., when scary and not-so-scary stories will be told in Woodlawn’s performance center.

Stories in Spanish will be told from 7 to 8 p.m. at the library. 

Admission Saturday is by donation.
