DIXON – A second arrest has been made in connection with a string of car and home burglaries.

Tyler Power, 20, of Dixon, was arrested Thursday and charged with nine counts of burglary and possession of a stolen firearm, all felonies.

Timothy Phillips, also 20 and of Dixon, was arrested Wednesday and also charged with nine counts of burglary.

A confidential informant led police to the two men, Lt. Brad Sibley said. They were in Lee County Jail Monday on $100,000 bond each, with hearings set for 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Dixon Police have received about 20 complaints of burglaries to cars and garages in the area over the past 5 weeks, they said in a news release.

Power is also charged in other cases with consumption of liquor by a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was convicted of criminal damage to property in Lee County in August 2011.

Phillips also is charged with consumption and purchase of liquor by a minor in a separate case. He was convicted of felony burglary in June, and theft and consumption of liquor by a minor, both in September.
