Lynch named to Manning watch list

Northern Illinois quarterback Jordan Lynch was named Friday to the 2013 Manning Award watch list.

The award, named in honor of Archie Manning and his sons, Peyton and Eli, features the top 30 returning quarterbacks according to ESPN’s Total Quarterback Rating list.

It is the fifth preseason watch list for Lynch, who is also in the running for the Walter Camp Award and the Maxwell Award for college football’s most outstanding player, as well as the Paul Hornung Award for the nation’s most versatile player, and the Davey O’Brien Award for the country’s top quarterback.

Lynch, who was the MAC MVP and an AP second-team All-American last season, is the only MAC player named to the Manning watch list.
