DIXON – A local weight-loss challenge winner who has entered a contest needs votes to win $25,000.

Bryan Monk, 28, of Dixon, an engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation, took first place in the most recent round of Operation: Move to Win, a competitive weight-loss and health-improvement challenge in the corporate wellness program at KSB Hospital.

Monk lost 27 percent of his body weight through the competition.

He since has entered a video into the “Me on GNC” contest and has made it into the top 15.

Votes from the public count for 20 percent of his total score. Voting ends Aug. 29.

Go to gnc.promo.eprize.com/respect/ (register with your name and email address) and look for his video in the video gallery; it’s called “Three Months of GNC.”

Winners will be announced Sept. 9.
