OREGON – Ogle County Fair organizers are doing their best to make this year's theme, "Celebrating 160 years of family fun," a reality.

Judging for the 4-H show started Saturday, while the fair opened Wednesday. It ends Sunday evening.

The traditional focus on family fun offers activities for all ages and free carnival rides with a paid gate admission, which is $8 for those 3 and older.

"Bring your family for the fun and the price," fair board President Harlan Holm said. "We have a lot of things people can do once they get on the grounds that don't cost anything."

In addition to the usual livestock exhibits, vendor offerings, petting zoo, and kids activities, there's a free lumberjack show and an exotic wild animal show with a warthog, a leopard and other animals.

Grandstand shows include truck and tractor pulls at 1 and 7 p.m. today; the Big Hat Rodeo at 7 p.m. Friday; the demolition derby at 6:30 p.m. Saturday; and 4x4 Overlanders Club Mudbog and Truck Drags at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The fairgrounds are at 1440 Limekiln Road, 2 miles west of Oregon off state Route 64. Go to www.oglecountyfair.com for a complete schedule and more information.
