Blackhawk gets annual fed grant

Rock Falls-based Blackhawk Hills Resource Conservation and Development received a $55,465 planning grant from the federal government, officials said Tuesday.

The group serves Whiteside, Lee, Ogle, Carroll, Stephenson and Jo Daviess counties. The money supports the updating of the comprehensive economic development strategy for the region.

Theresa Wittenauer, Blackhawk’s executive director, said her organization has received the grant every year since 1992.
