Robert Smith Jasper

FRANKLIN GROVE – Robert “Bob” Smith Jasper, 65, of Franklin Grove, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at his home. He was a lifetime farmer in Lee County.

Bob was born March 15, 1948, in Dixon, the son of Dale and Addie (Smith) Jasper. He married Susan Cornelius on Feb. 3, 1979, in Sterling. Bob was a member of Church of the Brethren in Franklin Grove.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Jasper; daughter Kirby Jasper of Indianapolis; his parents of Franklin Grove; five sisters, Rebecca Jasper of Farmington, N.M., Rhonda (Steve) Hoffman of Franklin Grove, Rowan (Alan) Harn of Freeport, Ruth (John) Lehman of Washington, and Renee (Mark) Pittman of Bryan, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of the Brethren in Franklin Grove, with the Rev. Matt Rittle, pastor, officiating. Private family burial will be at Emmert Cemetery in Nachusa.

Memorials have been established to the PADS homeless shelter and the Dixon Food Pantry.
