Wayne Farrell

MORRISON – Wayne Farrell, 95, of Morrison, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison. He farmed in the rural Morrison and Round Grove areas most of his life.

Wayne was born Dec. 12, 1917, in Prophetstown, the son of Clarence and Corda (Stewart) Farrell. He served in the Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945, stationed in the South Pacific. He married Eleanor M. Wiersema on Feb. 25, 1948, in Morrison. She preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 1993. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.

Survivors include one son, Wilbur Farrell of McHenry; one brother-in-law, Art Nickerson of Davenport, Iowa; and special friend, Viola Stralow of Morrison.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Margaret (Richard) Huston, Joyce (Russell) Selander, and Kathleen Nickerson.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, with Ken Renkes, director of congregational care at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaffey Hospice in Sterling and Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.
