Fundraiser Sunday at Cochran’s Pub

STERLING – A benefit to help the family of a Rock Falls woman who died May 31 of cancer starts at noon Sunday at Cochran’s Pub, 13464 Galt Road.

Alma Boyer, 58, died at home. Proceeds will help her family with funeral and medical expenses.

Registration for a double-elimination beanbag tournament starts at noon, with the first toss at 1 p.m. The fee is $40 per team with a 20-team minimum, and there’s a 50 percent payout.

There also will be a bounce house, dunk tank, goldfish races, face painting, bake sale, and bike and car wash, and T-shirts will be sold. There also will be a 50/50 drawing; you need not be present to win.

Burritos on Wheels, a former area business that Boyer partially owned, will provide food.
