Kenneth C. Shaw Sr.

STERLING – Kenneth C. Shaw Sr., 80, of Sterling, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Sterling Pavilion. He was an over-the-road truck driver for 30 years.

He was born Nov. 30, 1932, in Corning, Ark., a son of Kenneth N. and Lillie (Rice) Shaw. He served in the Navy. He married Patricia Rose Rein on April 19, 1958, in Rock Falls. She preceded him in death on May 24, 1984.

Survivors include his daughters, Debra (Mike) Donnelly, Lisa (Dan) Miller and Claudeen (Randy) Schmitt, all of Rock Falls; his sons, Kendall (Tiffany) Shaw of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Bret (Naomi) Shaw of Sterling; a sister, Lida Mandrell of Sesser; his brothers, Joseph Shaw and Jerry (Floreen) Shaw, both of Sterling, and Frank Shaw of Dixon; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, a son, and a brother.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling, with the Rev. Brian Vickers officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

A memorial has been established to a charity of the donor’s choice.
