Top-notch visit for health clinic

Published: Saturday, July 27, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

On behalf of the Whiteside County Community Health Clinic Governing Council, I would like to congratulate Beth Fiorini and the staff at the Whiteside County Community Health Clinic for the outstanding results they achieved during a Bureau of Primary Health Care site visit that took place May 29-31.

This in-depth, federal inspection covers 19 areas of management and operations, and our clinic met all requirements with no discrepancies – a feat accomplished by only 5 percent of community health clinics nationwide, according to the inspection team.

We are proud of our clinic and staff, and the fact that we served more than 13,000 patients from this area in 2012. National Health Center Week is coming up Aug. 11-17, and we invite the public to check out the caring, quality medical, dental and behavioral health care available at the Whiteside County Community Health Clinic.

Note to readers: Donna Bausman is the governing council chairwoman.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
