Man's body found in river in Oregon

Police seeking help identifying man found this morning

OREGON – Oregon Police are seeking help in identifying a man whose body was found this morning in the Rock River near Kiwanis Park in Oregon.

Oregon Police were called about 8:42 a.m. by a couple out fishing who saw the body.

Police recovered the body, with assistance from Oregon Ambulance, Oregon Fire Department, and the Ogle County coroner.

Police describe the man as being white, possibly in his late 70s or early 80s, with white hair; wearing black shoes, black pants and black suspenders.

Police found a gray “Jeep” baseball cap, a brown wooden cane and a red flannel button-up long-sleeve shirt on the bank of the river and believe the items belong to the man.

There was no wallet or any other form of identification found, and police have been unable to locate a car.

At this time, police haven't received any missing person reports.

If you have information that could help identify the man, call the Oregon Police Department at 815-732-2162.
