ROCK FALLS – Michael D. Steagall, 59, of Rock Falls, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Michael was born Jan. 30, 1954 in Sterling, the son of David Charles and Nancy Joanne (Lehman) Steagall. Michael was a graduate of Rock Falls High School, and was often referred to by his nicknames of “Maverick” and “Farmer Michael”. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, cooking outdoors and gardening. Michael was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.

Surviving are his beloved children, daughter Sarah Charmaine Steagall and son Christopher Michael Steagall, both of Rock Falls; his grandson, Rylan Christopher Steagall; his sisters Debby (Steve) Scalet of Timonium, Md., Cindy Snitchler of Arlington, Texas and Tammy (Mike) Henderson of Jonesville, Mich.; and his brother, John (Carole) Steagall of Double Oak, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother James.

A celebration of his life was held Saturday at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.
