ROCK FALLS – Lawrence E. Wolber, 90, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at his home.

Lawrence was born May 13, 1923, in Emerson, the son of John Emmanuel and Olga Teresa (Linke) Wolber. He married Marilyn June McKee on June 20,1943, in Sterling, she preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 1999. Lawrence was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, and served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and making music. Lawrence played many instruments, which included the harmonica, guitar, organ, piano, accordion, and most recently, the ukulele – there wasn’t an instrument he didn’t know how to play.

Survivors include three daughters, Connie (Neal) Roberts of Rochelle and Wendy (Robert) Fauble and Judy (Duane) Lou, both of Rock Falls; one son, Randall (Karen) Wolber of Rock Falls, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters, and one grandson.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 501 Eighth Ave. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Henrietta Milner officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
