Fulton man dies after motorcycle crash

FULTON – A 20-year-old Fulton man died Thursday after suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident earlier in the morning.

Logan K. Williamson died at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, of his injuries, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release Friday.

Sheriff’s police said Williamson had been traveling south on Chase Road, about a quarter-mile north of 17485 Chase Road in rural Fulton, when his motorcycle went down, skidded a considerable distance, and threw Williamson.

Williamson came to rest in the driveway at 17485 Chase Road. The accident, which occurred about 3:10 a.m. Friday, involved no other vehicles.

He was transported to Mercy-North Hospital in Clinton, Iowa, for treatment before deputies arrived. From there, he was taken to the Iowa City hospital.

The sheriff’s department still is investigating the crash.
