DIXON – Gary Joe Campbell, 74, of Dixon, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

He was born Dec. 21, 1938, in Dixon, the son of Edward “Sparky” and Gertrude (Gebert) Campbell. He had owned and operated the Midas Muffler Shop in Dixon for more than 30 years before retirement. He was a member of the Dixon Elks Lodge.

Joe enjoyed wintering at The Villages in Florida, playing golf, boating, snowmobiling, skeet shooting, and hunting.

He married Sally Hill on July 13, 1957, in Dixon.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Barb (Chuck) Levan of Dixon; son, Edward (Rebecca) Campbell of San Antonio; two grandchildren, Lindsey (Dan) Reglin and Stacy (Eric) Kane; and one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Kane.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Bernard Sehr, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded, with burial of cremains at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
