Emily J. Langele

DIXON – Emily Jean Langele, 66, of Dixon, formerly of Berwyn, died Friday, July 12, 2013, at her home. She was a secretary at the University of Illinois for 22 years, retiring in 2009.

Emily was born July 31, 1946, in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Emily Blazk. She married Charles Langele om May 30, 1971, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Survivors include her husband of Dixon; two sons, Kyle Langele of Joliet and Dave (Taren) Langele of Berwyn; two brothers, Kenneth Blazk and Leonard (Peggy) Blazk; one sister, Carol Woodham; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Frank Blazk.

An open celebration of Emily’s life will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at the Dixon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post. Cremation rites have been accorded. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Granny Rose Animal Shelter.
