Man gets 9 years in Polo church burglary

STERLING – A Sterling man was sentenced to 9 years in prison for burglarizing a Polo church in August.

Shane Nicewanner, 32, pleaded guilty in Ogle County Court to breaking into West Branch Church of the Brethren on Aug. 15. He also was ordered to pay $2,911.42 in restitution at his sentencing Friday.

His co-defendant, David Carlson, 27, of East Moline, is scheduled to enter a plea on July 31.
