MORRISON – Joan Olson, 90, of Resthave Retirement Home in Morrison, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She was employed as a secretary for various companies before her marriage.

Joan was born May 3, 1923, in Lyndon, the daughter of Arthur G. and Alice (Hook) Bierman. She married Loren W. “Ole” Olson on Jan. 17, 1947, in Morrison. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2008. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Jo Garesche of Peoria, Barb (Steve) Moran of Davenport, Iowa, and Betty Jane Ford of Chuluota, Fla.; one son, Jim (Sue) Olson of Sterling; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Garrett Ford; and one brother, James Arthur Bierman.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. today and the funeral at 11 a.m. today at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, with Ken Renkes, director of congregational care at the church, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established to Ebenezer Reformed Church.
