Marjorie ‘Marge’ Watkins

MILLEDGEVILLE  – Marjorie “Marge” Watkins, 82, of Milledgeville, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at her home.

Marge was born May 21, 1931, in Walnut, the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Wagelin) Fritz. She married Donald G. Watkins on June 11, 1950 in Walnut; he preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2009.

Marge worked for many years as a floral designer and enjoyed every minute of that. She also enjoyed going to auctions, collecting kitchen utensils, especially potato mashers, gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Chris (Dave) Folk of Milledgeville; son Ron (Cathy) Watkins of Kiel, Wis.; brother Bob Fritz; five grandchildren Cory (Erin) Folk of Oregon, Eric (Samantha) Watkins of Plainfield, Cami (Nathan) Hartman of Rock Falls, Leslie Watkins of St. Cloud, Wis., and Cassie (Matt) MeKeel of Polo; and nine great-grandchildren, Caden Hartman, Ian Watkins, Connor Woelfel, Grant Hartman, Cameron Folk, Reese MeKeel, Allison Watkins, Kinsley Folk, and Benton MeKeel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and four brothers.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Bethel Cemetery in Milledgeville, with the Rev. Jim Black officiating. Friends and family will gather for a meal at the Milledgeville Men’s Club immediately after.

Memorials have been established to the Milledgeville Fire Department and Hospice of the Rock River Valley.

Arrangements were completed at McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory in Milledgeville.
