STERLING – One of the six felony charges that landed a 22-year-old Sterling man in jail this week involves a milkshake.
According to police, on April 7 Justin M. Villegas threw a milkshake at two people on the 300 block of Avenue H in Sterling, resulting in a charge of aggravated battery. The shake in question struck the two victims “about the face, hands, and legs.”
An additional complaint from the same day states Villegas and three other men surrounded the same victims in their car, brandished weapons and threatened to kill them, resulting in a charge of mob action.
Villegas is in Whiteside County Jail on $500,000 bond after failing to appear at several hearings for his felony charges, which include being a felon in possession of a weapon, being in possession of a weapon with a defaced serial number, criminal damage to property costing more than $300 but less than $10,000, and an additional charge of aggravated battery.
The Sterling Police Department was unavailable for comment Friday afternoon, and as of press time, the flavor of the milkshake was still unknown.
