Poker run to raise funds for veterans memorial

LYNDON – The third annual poker run to raise money for Lyndon’s veterans memorial will be held July 27, starting with registration at 10 a.m. at the memorial on West Commercial Street.

Vehicles must be gone by noon, and will travel to Albany, Fulton, Hillsdale, Savanna, and Clinton, Iowa. The last vehicle is due in at 5 p.m. at Lyndon Pub, 704 First St. West.

The cost is $10, plus $10 per passenger, which includes dinner and a poker hand.

There also will be a 50/50 drawing and raffles for tickets to Adventureland, Iowa Cubs games, getaways to Sybaris in Chicago, a 50-person dinner at Lamb’s Tap in Rock Falls, golf packages, and Harley-Davidson items.

Otherwise, donations may be mailed to or dropped off at the Lyndon Village Hall, 404 W. Commercial St., Lyndon, IL 61261. Make checks payable to Lyndon Veterans Memorial.
