STERLING – The 13th annual Music in Motion 5K Run/Walk will be Aug. 3.

The race starts at 8 a.m. at Westwood Fitness & Sports Center, 1900 Westwood Drive, followed by an awards ceremony.

All proceeds will go to the Sterling Public Schools orchestra program. The primary goal is to purchase instruments for students in need.

Awards will go to the top male and female finishers; the top three finishers in each age group; and the top five male and top five female walkers. Every 13th finisher will win a prize.

The entry fees are $18 before race day; $25 on race day; and $10 for veterans and students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Rock River Road Runners members will receive a $1 discount if they register early.

Kids ages 10 and younger can take part in the Rhythm Run, a 1/10-mile sprint. The cost is $5. Each child will get a ribbon and goodie bag.

Registration will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 2 and from 7 to 7:45 a.m. on race day at Westwood’s Building No. 1.
