New trade agreement bad for U.S.

Our democracy can exist only with the consent of the governed. If “our” consent has been given only after being deceived, it cannot be said that our consent was provided legitimately.

If we have a veritable alphabet of choices, but only choice “A” or choice “B” has been made public as viable options, done through deliberate malice born of and paid for by greed, we have an obligation, a duty, to bring the deceivers to justice, and undo that which the deceivers have done under the ruse of “democracy.”

Real Americans will not tolerate swindlers for long. Free trade does not benefit America or Americans. The only beneficiaries are the outsourcers (who, for obvious reasons, have demonstrated no loyalty to their country or countrymen), and the Third World handlers overseas who provide foreign slave labor to the outsourcers.

Competing against foreign workers, American employees first lose their wages, then their benefits, and ultimately their jobs.

Anyone claiming the low cost of imported goods to U.S. consumers justifies free trade needs to be forcefully reminded that low-cost imported goods are as pricey as gold bricks to the unemployed.

While some years have been better than others, in regard to our trade deficit, we haven’t been in positive territory for two decades. And now we are about to enter a new free trade agreement: the Trans Pacific Partnership. We can all now look forward to shedding U.S. jobs not only to China and Mexico, but to the Philippines, as well.

Only a huckster can claim that this treaty will be good for America. It won’t be.
