Lois K. Walters

PHOENIX – Lois Katherine Walters, 84, of Phoenix, died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, July 4, 2013, at an assisted living facility.

Lois was born March 10, 1929, in Aurora, the daughter of William and Florence (Bauer) Littlewood. She married Melcher Walters on April 24, 1948, in Tucson, Ariz. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2001.

Lois was a telephone operator in the 1950s. She worked for Anchor Coupling and Edelmann in Dixon, as well as the Franklin Grove Nursing Home.

Survivors include three sons, Michael (Merilee) Walters, Gary Walters, and David Walters; four daughters, Nancy (Chris) Davis, Cathy Walters, Penny Walters, and Diane Walters; two sisters-in-law, Patricia (Lawrence) Young and Mary Walters; grandchildren, Jennifer, Holly, Todd, Lisa, Christopher, Kimberly, Marty, Chad, Andrea, Gabriel, and David Jr.; great-grandchildren, Serenity, Devan, Madeline, Jamison, Maya, Isabella, Xavier, Alexjander, Samantha, and Aliyah; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Elroy Littlewood; and two sisters, Marge (Clyde) Richards and Doris (Johnny) Johnson.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no service. Burial will be at a later date at Restland Cemetery in Mendota.
