DIXON – An 18-year-old registered sex offender from Dixon was arrested Monday at the Ogle County Courthouse and charged with three counts of criminal sexual assault.

Jarom E.P. Vock, accused of assaulting a 17-year-old girl in December 2011, was in Lee County Jail Tuesday on $200,000 bond. The charge carries 4 to 15 years in prison.

No further information was available Tuesday.

Vock, formerly of Polo and Forreston, was at the courthouse in Oregon the day before for a hearing in a case filed there in February, in which he is accused of failing to report his change of address as a sex offender, a felony that carries 2 to 5 years in prison. He has a pretrial hearing Aug. 12 in that case.

Because he was a minor when convicted of the Ogle County offense, no further information was available from the jail or online records.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
