Janet 'JJ' Johnson Hanson

MORRISON – Janet “JJ” Johnson Hanson, 73, of Morrison, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at her home.

She was born June 8, 1940, in Dixon, the daughter of George E. and Marion Grace (Glessner) Butterfield. She was a 1958 graduate of Dixon High School. Janet was employed as a real estate specialist with the state Department of Transportation District 2 in Dixon for more than 20 years. 

Surviving are her son, Daniel R. (Kristina) Johnson of Oak Lawn; her mother, Marion Butterfield of Sterling; two sisters, Cheryl L. Buffington of Milledgeville and Gayle Jones Westerberg of Dillon, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Lara and Nicholas Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Butterfield.

Private family services were at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, with the Rev. William Antillon, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Morrison, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
