Governmental task force to meet with city attorney

Published: Tuesday, July 9, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

DIXON – The governmental task force has some final questions to ask the city’s attorney regarding various forms of government before members start making up their minds.

The advisory panel will meet with city attorney Robert LeSage on Wednesday.

The seven-member task force was appointed by Mayor Jim Burke to make a recommendation on what form of government is best for Dixon. They have talked with city officials from Sterling, Rochelle, Ottawa, East Peoria and Dixon – focusing primarily on the commission form of government with an administrator versus the city manager form.

Members plan to debate and discuss further before making up their minds in August.

The meeting will be held at 9 a.m. at City Hall, 121 W. Second St.
