Josephine L. Rajnowski

STERLING – Josephine L. Rajnowski, 92, of Sterling died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Prophetstown.

She was born Dec. 29, 1920, in Argyle, Minn., the daughter of Percy and Rose (Safranski) Verbout. She married Michael N. Rajnowski on Oct. 11, 1938, in Argyle. He died Sept. 16, 2003. She was a press operator at Frantz Bearing Plant in Sterling, retiring after 40 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jane (Alvin) Russell of Rock Falls; her brother, Louis (Agnes) Verbout of Sterling; her sister, Janet (Floyd) Bennett of Sterling; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Douglas; her brother, Frank Verbout; and her grandson, Jon Russell.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling, followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
