DIXON – A Dixon man remains in critical condition at a Rockford hospital after a rollover accident Friday evening.

Kenneth White, 38, was northbound on Sink Hollow Road south of Mile Road around 6:30 p.m. when his  2002 Saturn Vue crested a hill at a high rate of speed, went sideways, left the road, and rolled in a bean field, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

White, who was thrown from the car, was taken to KSB Hospital in Dixon, then flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital, where he still was in critical condition Sunday.

Two Dixon children, Thomas Beauchamp, 7, and Konner Koehler, 6, also were taken to KSB; the hospital does not release information on its patients.

The accident is under investigation.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
