Phillip J. Hall, 27, of Dixon, 3:22 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of North Peoria Avenue; driving while license suspended; posted individual bond.

Sterling Police

Taylor D. Wainscott, 23, of Sterling; 5:39 a.m. Thursday in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue; domestic battery, resisting/obstructing a peace officer in a previous case; taken to Whiteside County Jail.

Austin J. Ramirez, 19, of Sterling; 10:55 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of 14th Avenue; Whiteside County warrant for aggravated discharge of a firearm, violation of probation; taken to Whiteside County Jail.

Shilo L. Fielding, 37, of Rock Falls; 10:03 a.m. Thursday at Avenue C and West Third Street; expired license plates, improper use of registration, no insurance; posted driver’s license as bond.

Edward C. Bouvia, 24, of Sterling; 12:24 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of West 21st Street in Rock Falls; unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon; taken to Whiteside County Jail.

Michael W. Bennett, 27, of Sterling; 12;45 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of Seventh Avenue; domestic battery, interfering with the report of domestic violence; taken to Whiteside County Jail.

Alex L. Johnson, 25, of Sterling; 3:59 a.m. Thursday at East Second Street and 17th Avenue; driving under the influence, driving under the influence – .08, failure to reduce speed, failure to report an accident, failure to notify unattended vehicle owner; given notice to appear in court.

State Police

Gerald K. Russell, 48, of Rock Falls; 12:15 p.m. Wednesday at Seventh Street and First Avenue in Rock Falls; driving while license suspended, expired registration, no insurance; posted I-bond. Arrested at the same time was Amie M. Toste, 36, of Joliet; Whiteside County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of a controlled substance; given court date, released with time to pay.

Troopers checking vehicles this weekend

STERLING – DIstrict 1 Illinois State Police are conducting roadside safety checks through Sunday in Whiteside County. Troopers will be looking for drivers operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked license, transporting open alcoholic beverages, or driving under the influence.
