Red Cross training courses available

ROCK FALLS – First Aid and CPR/AED classes will be offered in August.

They will be held at the American Red Cross Lincoln Land Branch, 112 W. Second St.

Participants are taught how to perform CPR and use an AED, what to do if someone is choking, and how to prevent and respond to other emergencies until advanced medical help arrives.

The students also learn how to control bleeding, as well as how to care for seizures and other sudden illnesses.

The courses are: Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED1, No. 02132110 – $70, 8 a.m. to noon; and Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, No. 02132125 – $85, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., both Aug. 10.

Blended Learning classes combine online content/examination and an in-class skills session. The skills sessions are Aug. 12. The online portion must be completed before the skills session starts.

The courses are Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, No. 02131997 – $85; Adult CPR/AED, No. 02132004 – $55; and Adult First Aid/CPR/AED, No. 02132016 – $70, all 5:30 to 7 p.m.; and First Aid, No. 02132021 – $55, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Baby-sitting Basics, No. 02074912, is a 4-hour, web-based class. All course activities are completed online. The cost is $25.

The Red Cross also offers reviews. Participants must have a current class certification in order to review.
