Total football enrollments for Eastland-Pearl City and West Carroll, respectively, the two biggest schools in the “big half” of the NUIC.

Galena (1997, 2003, ’07) have three each, with Lena-Winslow adding the other in 2010. There have also been two runner-up finishes: Galena in 1999 and Durand in 1985.

That many NUIC Northwest schools have animal mascots: Durand Bulldogs, E-PC Wildcatz, Forreston Cardinals and Le-Win Panthers. Three others (Dakota Indians, Galena Pirates, South Beloit SoBos) are human, while West Carroll is the only one with a nickname taken from Mother Nature (Thunder) – in either half of the conference.
