OREGON – Jayne E. White, 85, of Oregon, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon.

She was born Nov. 29, 1927, in Littleton, Iowa, the daughter of Carl R. and Margaret (Hultz) Strempke. Jayne was a graduate of Independence, Iowa, High School. She married Victor J. White Jr. on June 24, 1947, in Independence. He died May 21, 2004. She lived in Oregon since 1950, and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and The Catholic Daughters of America. Jayne was employed for many years at Putnam Photography in Oregon. She enjoyed gardening and homemade crafts.

She is survived by her son, David (Patti) White of Franklin Grove; daughters, Susan (Steve) Lace of Tucson, Ariz., Victoria White of Rockford, and Juliann Dent of Pueblo, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Clinton Strempke of Camp Verde, Ariz., Clifford Strempke of Iowa and Carl (Cleo) Strempke of Rustburg, Va.; sisters, Joan Ramsey of Independence, Irene Cremmer of Fairbanks, Iowa, and Ruth Lynn Gentry of Boise, Idaho.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

There will be no visitation. Memorial Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. July 19 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon, with the Rev. Joseph Naill officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Oregon.

Memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice & Home, 1658 S. state Route 2, Oregon, IL 61061. Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Oregon is handling arrangements.
