Flooding closes recreation areas

Published: Friday, June 28, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

THOMSON – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mississippi River Project has closed Thomson Causeway, the Lock and Dam 13 camping and boat ramp and Cattail Slough, both in Fulton; and Bulger's Hollow in Clinton, Iowa, because of rising floodwaters.

The areas will remain closed until the water recedes and the land dries out enough to be safe for motor vehicle access.
