VFW will host walk for wounded warriors

ROCK FALLS – Rock Falls Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5418 is holding a walk, bake sale and cookout Saturday to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

The walk starts at 10 a.m. at the VFW, 217 First Ave. Walkers will go to Veterans Memorial Park and back. The entry fee is $10, which includes a T-shirt and bottle of water. Nonwalkers also may buy shirts.

The cookout and bake sale will be at the VFW throughout the event.

To register, call the VFW at 815-626-3513 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. today through Friday; or come early Saturday.

The Amboy Green River Motorcycle Club will present a donation at noon. Donations also can be mailed to Rock Falls VFW, 217 First Ave., Rock Falls, IL 61071; write "Wounded Warriors" on the memo line.
