URBANA (AP) — A former administrator at a Champaign nursing home has pleaded not guilty to stealing about $100,000 from 18 patients.

Pamela S. Britt of Potomac remained in jail Tuesday on $75,000 bond. She was arrested last week and was arraigned Friday.

According to The News-Gazette in Champaign (http://bit.ly/11L2MYF ) Britt is scheduled for trial July 30. She faces 12 felony counts of financial exploitation of an elderly person, theft and other charges.

Champaign police detective Pat Kelly said the money was found to be missing during an internal audit at Heartland Health Care Center in Champaign. The thefts are alleged to have occurred between 2007 and 2011 from accounts the patients had at the home.

Kelly said the 55-year-old Britt was authorized to sign to make transactions on some of those accounts.
