Irene F. Shaw

MOUNT MORRIS – Irene F. Shaw, 86, of Mount Morris, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

She was born Nov. 9, 1926, in Lee County, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Gleason) Rock. She married Davis Shaw on Nov. 9, 1944, in Oregon. He died in 2004. Irene was a member of Lincoln Wood Baptist Church in Rockford, Pine Creek Women’s Club, and was an Amway representative for 40 years.

Survivors include children, Jean (Steve) Noonkesser of Mount Morris, Shelly (Bob) Schultz of Forreston, Laurie (Steve) Dodds of DeWitt, Iowa, Jim (Carolyne) Shaw of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Scott (Amber) Shaw of Las Vegas; sisters, Rita (Bob) Anderson of Ohio, Ill., and Anne (Carl) Vock of Polo; grandchildren, Tammy, Rick, Janet, Rob, Trina, Cherie, Keely, and Cody; great-grandchildren, Halston, Dale Arden, Peiton, Luca, Andy, Chelsea, Jordan, Riley, Aaron, Jordan, Anna, Tressa, Isaac, Michael, Levi, Isiah, Ziah, Chase, Hailey, Wiley, Morgan, Isabelle, Cassidy, and Dillon; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by siblings, Eileen Oester and John Rock; and grandchildren, Devin and Dalton Schuler.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, with the funeral at 1 p.m. Friday at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St., Oregon, with Herman Brown, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Grand Detour Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established.
