Girl Scout Council honors volunteers

Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois recently honored volunteers with awards for service.

Donna Bausmann of Mount Carroll and Amy Suarez of Sterling were recognized with the Girl Scout Appreciation Pin. The award is given for outstanding service to at least one geographic area in the council.

Volunteer of Excellence Awards were presented to Amanda Hanchelle of Mount Carroll, Jodi Sedivy of Savanna, and Virginia Whaley of Dixon. The award is in recognition of those who have contributed outstanding service, while partnering directly with girls to implement Girl Scout leadership experience.

Donna Bausman of Mount Carroll was elected as secretary of the council’s newly-elected board of directors and board development committee.

Christin Giedd of Dixon was named to the GSNI’S Board of Directors-at-Large for a 2-year term.

Girl Scouts elected as board-appointed associate directors include Kayla Colwell of Franklin Grove.
