New tech consultant in town
Liberty Group provides tech repairs and sales
STERLING – Will Studer wants people to sit on his love seat and tell him their problems.
Their technology problems, that is.
Studer, 30, opened Liberty Group, a technology consulting, repair and implementation specialist business, at 408 E. Third St. on June 10.
He ran a similar business in Missouri, and from his home just outside Sterling since he moved here about 5 years ago.
“That’s why I have the love seat,” Studer said. “I want people to feel comfortable sitting here and telling me what kind of technology support they need.”
Along with repairs and consulting, he offers Web design, networking and sells certified used machines that Studer said have been evaluated to be sure they are working properly.
Liberty Group also repairs closed-circuit TVs and cameras, among other items.
“I enjoy working with technology,” Studer said. “Since I got my first computer in seventh grade, I took it apart to see how it works.”
Studer said his customer clientele is about half businesses, half individuals.
He said the name of his business, Liberty Group, comes from his patriotism. He and his wife recently visited Washington, D.C., and he has a photograph featured prominently on his desk to show customers.
“I wanted something that embodies my personality,” Studer said. “That name worked.”
He does most of the work, but does have an intern.
“I’d like to grow to where I could have everyone specializing in a certain area,” he said. “Like real estate, everyone would have their own area of expertise to send customers to.”
Liberty Group, 408 E. Third St., is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
