ROCK FALLS – Rock River Open Forum will present a conversation with state Rep. Mike Smiddy, D-Hinsdale, at 6 p.m. Monday at Rock Falls Public Library.

Smiddy, elected in 2012, represents all of Whiteside County. At an Open Forum meeting during his campaign in September, he indicated he would work for economic development, workers’ rights, sound fiscal policies, fair treatment of veterans, a healthy environment, and education.

He will speak on his progress on these issues, and on topics such as pensions, fracking, same sex-marriage, his impression of Springfield, and his successes and disappointments.

Admission is free. Email turkfk@comcast.net for more information.
