Kids and their parents celebrate after the Reagan Fun Run last year in Dixon.

The 13th Annual Reagan Kids’ Fun Run will take place on Saturday, July 6th, at 7:30 a.m. This is a free and noncompetitive race for children 9 and under, which will begin at the corner of Hennepin and 8th Street, and end at Haymarket Square.

The race is approximately six-tenths of a mile, and kids typically finish within 8 to 15 minutes. Parents have enough time to run the 5K, if they wish, and may run along with their children or meet them at the finish.

Safety is our primary concern, as the course is well-marked, lined with volunteers, and the Dixon Police will block all traffic areas.

Pre-registration is encouraged, although race-day registration is also available from 6:45-7:15 a.m. All pre-registrants must check-in prior to 7:15 to obtain a race number. Registration and check-in ends promptly at 7:15 a.m., as the race begins at 7:30.

Medals, goodie bags and refreshments will be given to all finishers. Free running shirts will be given to the first 100 registrants, with sizes first-come, first-served.

The Kids’ Fun Run has grown to more than 250 participants over the years, and the numbers keep growing. A HUGE “thanks” to all of our sponsors who make the Reagan Kids’ Fun Run possible each year!

It’s a fun morning, kicking off the 5K and promoting kids’ fitness. Register your child on-line at www.reaganrun.com, or obtain a form at the Dixon Family YMCA or various local Dixon businesses. For more information, please call me, Amy Boss, at 815-285-2677.

Hope to see you out there this year!
