CHICAGO – Dr. David Yeager, who practices at the KSB Foot & Ankle Center in Dixon, provided medical treatment for walkers at this year’s Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
Yeager, who serves as president of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, treated patients June 1 and 2 at Horner Park in Chicago.
Participants walking in the 39-mile, 2-day event raised more than $5.2 million for individuals and groups with limited access to care and to find a cure for breast cancer.
Yeager and other volunteer podiatrists treated about 300 participants for many ailments, including blisters, joint inflammation, and traumatic nail injuries.
Medical students from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine also treated walkers, while representatives from the American Society of Podiatric Medical Assistants-Illinois Chapter assisted with triage.
