How the city could halt late payment fees

Regarding the Dixon City Council article about credit card late payments, here is a simple solution.

If I was mayor of Dixon, I would have the finance director decide what date is best to receive bills and be able to process them, get council approval, and mail and pay them on time to avoid late fees.

Then I would tell the director to contact credit card companies [and tell them] to all end the credit card bills on the same date.

The bill would be posted online the next day, so you could print a copy and start that process even before you received the hard copy.

Problem solved.
