Nina, Pinta and museum activities this weekend

CLINTON, Iowa – The Pinta and the Nina are coming to Clinton to educate the public and schoolchildren Friday through Sunday at Clinton Marina, 511 Riverview Drive.

The public is welcome to walk aboard for self-guided tours. The sailing museums will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Reservations are not needed.

The ships, which were delayed a few days by river conditions, will arrive around 2 p.m. today and leave Monday morning.

Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $6 for students 5-16, and free for children 4 and younger. 

Schools and organizations may schedule a 30-minute guided tour with a crew member by Calling 787-672-2152 or columfnd@surfbvi.com. A minimum of 15 people is required. The cost is $5 each. Go to www.thenina.com for more information.

While in town, visitors may want to stop by The Sawmill Museum, 2231 Grant St., which will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, featuring Flag Day crafts on Friday and a Father’s Day scrapbook activity from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. The museum also will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
