ROCK FALLS – Joshua T. Shannon, 32, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at his home, following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Josh was born April 10, 1981, in Sterling, the son of Myron and Janet (Saathoff) Shannon. He married Megan Wilcox on Oct. 2, 2010, in Sterling. Josh was employed by Walmart Distribution Center in Sterling. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame and the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.

Survivors include his wife, Megan, and one son, Jonathan Thomas Shannon, both of Rock Falls; his father, Myron (Nikki) Shannon of Portage, Wis.; his mother, Janet (Dale) Sierens of Rock Falls; two sisters, Kaylon Shannon of Rock Falls and Alyson (Steve) Bearsley of Morrison; four stepbrothers, Brian (Karen) Sierens of Manlius, Bob (Alison) Sierens of Glencoe, Brandon (Lindsay) Sierens of Tiskilwa, and Beau (Desiree) Sierens of Marengo; four stepsisters, Michelle (Roy) Erdmann, Amy Williams, Jennifer Williams, and Kimberly Williams, all of Wisconsin; and 21 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sterling, with the Rev. Bruce Ludeke officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
