CHICAGO (AP) — Illinois' secretary of state is encouraging Chicago Blackhawks fans to buy commemorative team license plates that support Illinois schools.

Jesse White made the suggestion hours before the Blackhawks open the Stanley Cup finals Wednesday night in Chicago against the Boston Bruins.

Residents can order the license plates by visiting www.cyberdriveillinois.com . The cost is $69 for cars and $66 for motorcycles.

More than 25,000 sports series license plates have been sold to car owners and motorcyclists. The sales have generated more than $1.3 million for public schools.

In addition to the Blackhawks, sports series license plates available include the Chicago Bears, Bulls, Cubs and White Sox.
